Recently I was invited to give a seminar as part of the Maynooth Theoretical Physics Seminar Series and with the lockdown it went online, so earlier today I gave my first virtual seminar. On the whole it worked pretty well. My talk was titled ‘Gravitational Waves from Galactic Cores’ and reviewed modelling of small mass ratio binaries. Towards the end I highlighted our recent result on second-order calculations (now published in Physical Review Letters). I also included material highlighting our work from last spring on gravitational waves from objects orbiting Sgr A*, which unfortunately I didn’t get time to talk about during the seminar.
For those who are interested here’s a link to the slides from the talk.
